Canopy - fall

I look at the trees
and I can see
a wounded back against the bark
and Your arms as the branches,
unprotected,
spread out for me.

God, You are our canopy
You form loving arms
that reach out to me.
I walk through the beauty of these,
the color of the trees,
and know Your Love
that Your creation allows us to see
Jesus -
be my canopy.

I’m following the path
Your arching arms are leading me through;
knowing that it’s You.
The Son shows His colors
and we sense His Truth
that we bring only ourselves
to His banquet anew.
His bounty abounds above my head –
Jesus feed me and fall all about
as I treasure Your measure of Love poured out.

God, You are our canopy
You form loving arms
that reach out to me.
I walk through the beauty of these,
the color of the trees,
and know Your Love
that Your creation allows us to see
Jesus -
be my canopy.

Wounded Wing - fall

Oh little bird,
you poor thing,
hurting and helpless
with your sad, broken wing.
I lift you up gently with
caring hands
and just hold you here
so you'll understand
that in your affliction
there's someone near
desiring to fix
but even more - to be here.
Just rest in this moment
and feel the anguish ease
with a soothing presence
that heals and relieves.

Luke 13:6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.
