The Angels Sang - spring

The angels sang in the silent pines

but it wasn't a song from here -

the setting sun shone sideways,

sending its light where none should appear.

Where is the veil that separates 

 when is it drawn aside?

Love exists on both sides now -

thank you Lord Jesus 

for taking us across the divide.

Peaceful evening

soothe my soul,

reassurance of a healing power

that we don’t have to control.

Let the birds

sing it to sleep

or send the snow to bring silence to all;

peaceful evening

soothe my soul,

as hues of blue

so faintly fall.
