Lilies of the field - summer

Lilies of the field
so peaceful, fair the flowers
satisfied by sunshine
sprinkled by the showers
stroked by the nurturing breeze
living hour by hour.
Lord, clothe me like the lilies
resting solely within Your power.

Wiped the Tears - summer

Has anyone ever really wiped the tears from your eyes?
Placed their finger tenderly on your face
removing the sorrow and fear from that place?
So the Lord has promised
(how we’ve longed for it here)
it’s not a figurative form of tears
He will touch us every one
with the comfort of His being near.

Revelation 21:4

Natural Warmth - summer

The love of our Lord is a natural warmth
akin to summers reaching rays,
enveloping, holding, keeping us close
with His inviting ways.
Embracing us in soothing peace
no wicked wind from which we pull away
Keep us in your abiding glow
and don’t ever let us go…

A Touch from Afar - spring

If the sun can touch the tops of trees
when it rises and when it sets;
He will reach out to me
in kindness
He will not forget.
Undeserving, of friends defiled,
depending on Him
to know I'm worthwhile.
It's lonely here
so I live with desire
for assurance from Him,
a touch that's inspired.

peck peck peck
Sounds of spring.
peck peck peck
It will soon have wings.
peck peck peck
It's about to appear,
just like a chick emerging,
new,
spring is finally breaking through
this sky of robin eggs blue!

When the snow fields soften
the birds begin to sing,
the trees stretch out awakening arms
as buds turn emerald green.
The sun lays long on sodden land
and bids the seed to grow,
returning earth to harbor man,
to nourish and to sow.
So take me in and shelter me
from winter harsh and sad,
and carry me along with thee
a springtime heart
and glad...

Through the Pines - winter

Flurries through the pines
are free and in no hurry.
They flutter in the air
unlike other snow,
meandering merely on their own.
No wonders they cannot collect their thoughts
into accumulation as other snow is taught.
The lessons we could learn from flurries:
remain unique and
what's the hurry?

White robe of sunlit snow - winter

Oh white robe of sunlit snow,
it's of you our God is seen:
not with brown of sandy beach
or land of grassy of green.
Countenance like lightning,
God is described by saints of old,
hold the brilliance of the sun
for those of us below...
Oh white robe of sunlit snow,
the creator made you to show
His majesty and golden glow
to take us to the heavenly realms
with spritely sprays
over drifted waves
in His  purity we shall be saved.
Oh white robe of sunlit snow
Upon your sea - Gods Glory shown.

When Demands turn to Desire - winter

When demands turn to desire
we have found the childlike faith
in which we'll never tire.
Why should our view of the Father
be driven by what we see as His demands?
Why can't we instead be internally pleased
by joyously following His commands?
Like any child who knows he has pleased
we're happy and peaceful,
our conscience is eased;
When what God wants becomes our own thirst,
we are one with Him
and can't be coerced.
Christ obeyed when in the form of man,
to show the grace and love of God
is the goal of the commands,
and all of this can be in us
through faith in His good and perfect will
for when demands turn to desires
we are, with Him, fulfilled.

Romans 12:2 -Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Some Day... - winter

I have lost no less than 4 friends since 2015 began...
2 were elderly saints but one was my closest childhood and personal friend I've ever had - we were born in the same month and the other friend was from college - 2 years younger than I.
*
I write this in their memory as we all must think of our passing  - some day.
*
There will only be praise
some day - some day
no need of scripture
no need to pray
only praise - only praise
will be heard there
far deeper than happiness
beyond all joy
with music and words in infinite ways
only praise - only praise
you need only lay eyes on the night sky and gaze
to begin now through the rest of you days
and into eternity
praise - only praise
*
"Praise the Lord oh my soul..." Psalm 146:1

May this poem find its way to your heart through faith -
*
Oh cold gray skies
descending
we shall not be deprived
of warmth or Light this glorious season
for the Christ child has arrived!
His love is all around
unending
we shall have joy
despite your pall
for God divine in
Jesus is sending
hope for us all.

Merry Christmas

Divinity
is reborn
renewing
the intimacy
that was torn
away when we chose to leave
and so betrayed
the Author of Love -
how our souls did decay...
*
Divinity is reborn
let's run and renew
that intimate bond
of pure Love that is true
Life Eternal is only through He
who has been reborn -
God's Divinity.

Merry Christmas!

Smokin' out the back door
driven to drink,
yet I'm not as hard up
as you might think.
Jesus came a'callin' and Jesus died
with people just like me on His mind.
Now I'm comin' over to Him,
all of me and all my sins
'Cause anyone who can love me enough
to die like that
won't leave me a'sittin' where I'm at.

falling sun - fall

The shadows have gone long,
so forlorn and worn -
summer's coming to an end.
Seamlessly it's slipping away,
daylight given to decay,
not my favorite season
but it may
redeem itself in some yet colorful way...

Oh how I love to write,
to hear some new stirring within my soul
but yet the sounds are never finished
always it’s beginnings
never reaching the new goal:
Here on earth is just the first verse
where is the chorus?
where is rest?
I know what God is saying…
wait, and have patience
for I am the best -
So when I get to heaven
there will be no ending to His songs
but only satisfaction to this longing
for His Glory goes forever on and on…
