Look over the city -
shining lights below,
wondering who the people are
and where they all will go.
Will it be a good night
or filled with fear and strife?
There’s a story for each soul
and God who gave them life.
So instead of feeling hopeless
and helpless
with what we see
there are promises and prayers for
these
and a hope for humanity.
What if an excitement came –
that all the sadness could be changed
‘cause healing had been prearranged
by the Lord who came to restore?
What if revelations one by one
brought peace to those
who seek God’s Son
and Jesus comes to make it right
when the Holy One comes into our
night?
So instead of feeling hopeless
or helpless
with what we see
there are prayers for these
and a hope for humanity.
