perhaps pretending - winter

perhaps pretending
is a way of understanding
how the sun shines
on the firs
as if a Norwegian winter;
how the moons reflecting
on our river
is the same as on the Seine
and to savor lavender fields
of Provence
while strolling here among
the meadows in spring;
how the birds swirl
in the sky
as if in
England,
their songs  to sing;
perhaps pretending,
while bereft of being there,
is to find an understanding
that to simply be aware
is perhaps the same
as being somewhere…
